Sun 3 Oct @ 2pm Pleasant Sunday Afternoon Concert CCSA Hall, Nutley St. Caloundra At 2pm on Sunday 3rd October, music lovers will have the last opportunity to enjoy the wide variety of acts that are
lined up for the Pleasant Sunday Afternoon concert in the CCSA Hall, Nutley St. Caloundra. (This is our last Sunday afternoon concert for 2010) Colin Butcher (see photo) was a sensational Master of Ceremonies at the Caloundra
Chorale's "Music Hall" extravaganza. Since then, he has shaved off his illustrious beard and moustache, and has polished up some of his baritone solos - some of which won him the title (many times) of Champion of
Champions at the QLD Eisteddodau.
Some very well known and loved groups will grace the stage in the Sunshine Statesmen with their new Music Director - Sarah Laws, and also the energetic Tap Katz ladies (Senior Idol finalists). Back by popular
(actually Neil's) demand is Neil Booth's guitar group, some of which are professional performers, and some others who can hopefully keep up with them.
This month also features 4 duet artists: Ron and Val Clarkson on clarinet and piano: Dom Retschlag and Neil Booth on the grand piano: Darrell Watson and Kate (of 'Tis band fame) on
vocals/guitar: and regular singers Bev Gourlay and husband Aart Schouten. Admission at the door is $9 which includes afternoon tea. There's no need to book, just come along and enjoy the funny, friendly show. Please check out
the Chorale's website for their events at www.caloundrachorale.com.au

Sat 30 Oct The Bee Gee Story (as performed by Wickety Wak) Sunshine Coast Function Centre 19 West
Tce, Caloundra 7.30pm Seated Show 18+ During the Legendary Wickety Wak Years, the boys became exceptionally well-known for their send-ups and impersonations of international stars. One of the most requested was Greg, Robbie
& Tony's tribute to the Bee Gees. Their vocals were often confused with being mimed because the sound was so close to the original artists. As the Wickety Wak era comes to an end, the boys have branched out to bring the Bee
Gees story to life in an outstanding live concert. Greg Doolan has produced the show in almost a theatrical approach as they remind us of the days when Bandstand had them singing "My old man's a Dustman" and as the
story unfolds tells of all the other artists who they have written for. Which brings in another classic Wak moment as the guys perform their hilarious Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton send-up of Islands in the Stream written by the
Gibb brothers. Add to the show some outstanding musicians and beautiful Laura Doolan performing the female hits written by the Bee Gees and you will see Greg Doolan, Rob Rosenlund and Tony Jeffrey back in full flight in the
auditoriums where they still hold the record for the number of tickets sold in the history of the great showbands. Tickets: $27 + $3 trans. fee Bookings Ph: 5438 5800 or visit: www.sunshinecoastfunctioncentre.com.au for more
