Wed 19 Nov to Sat 6 Dec Blood Brothers By Willy Russell Directed by Neil Pattenden With special arrangement with Dominie Pty Ltd Performances are on 19, 20, 21, 22, 26, 27, 28, 29 November, 4, 5, 6 December at 7.30pm and on 23 and 30 November at 2pm Noosa Arts Theatre, Noosa Blood Brothers has an extraordinary effect on audiences. They love it and keep coming back to see it. It has been running in London for over 20 years. “Devastating. A masterpiece. If you haven’t seen it, go. If you have, go again!” News of the World. You'll laugh and you'll cry as you follow Willy Russell's story of twin brothers separated at birth in Liverpool and flung to opposite ends of the social spectrum. Willy Russell, of Educating Rita and Shirley Valentine fame, again displays his skill for ‘down to earth’ writing that touches audiences and endears his characters to them.
The leading lady (the twins’ mother) has been played by stars such as Helen Reddy and Petula Clark. Noosa Art’s leading lady will be played by Synda Turnbull. Synda has taken lead roles in musicals and plays across the Coast and has the singing voice and dramatic skills to create a memorable Mrs Johnstone.
The narrator is played by Andy Hanrahan who worked for many years as a professional singer/actor in London and who recently played the lead role of Jean Valjean in a sell-out season of Les Miserables at Caloundra Events Centre in April this year.
The twins are played by Sean McDermott and Kuna (KC) Smith who both have impressive theatrical experience as have the other female leads Sonia Williams and Genevieve Yates.
This Noosa Arts production will be directed by Neil Pattenden who directed The Mikado, Chicago, Tribute and Iolanthe. The show is for children 12 and above.
Tickets are $28 with concessions and group bookings at $25. First Night tickets are $33 with no concessions and include supper and drinks. For bookings phone 5449 9343 or book online at www.noosaartstheatre.org.au or go to theatre on Saturday mornings from 9.00am to noon.
