Fri 4 Jan to Sat 19 Jan One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest Cavern Theatre Ben Lexcen Drive Sunshine Beach nightly from 7.30pm Tony Bonner star of shows such as The Lighthorsemen, the ANZACS, The Man from Snowy River, Murder She Wrote, Quigley Down Under and of course Skippy, (as the helicopter pilot Jerry King) is coming to Queensland to direct Jally Productions stage play’ One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest’. One Flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest was made famous on film by Jack Nicholson in 1975, winning the big five at the Academy Awards, but was first staged in 1963 on Broadway, starring Kirk Douglas. Go inside the mind of an Indian chief & see the world of denial through his eyes & experience the lust of a man for size, & nothing more, the restoration of his stature in the world. That is what Dale Wasserman, the playwright who brought us this adaptation of Ken Kesey’s novel, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, would like us to know. Sat 12 Jan The Other Woman: Deni Hines & James Morrison Nambour Civic Centre In conjunction with the release of the Jazz Duet album “The Other Woman” (13th October 2007), James Morrison & Deni Hines announce their national tour commencing in January 2008.
Taking a minimum 9 piece band on the road, Deni & James will perform the entire 16 track album with some special interludes & commentary for over 2 hours featuring such tracks as “I Only Have Eyes For You”, “Summertime”, “God Bless the Child, “Strange Fruit “ & their two originals “(tired of being) The Other Woman” & “Wake Up”.
The recent preview shows in Sydney & Melbourne were near sell outs & overwhelmed the audience. Jaws were dropping, feet were tapping & there were more encores that you can poke a trumpet at.
